Fruits Basket

Ali discusses her absolute favorite anime based on the popular manga series by Natsuki Takaya, Fruits Basket, for this special 150th episode of the podcast!

Having first been introduced to the manga in middle school, Ali reminisces about falling in love with the characters (in particular, Kyo Soma) and fangirling with her friends, cousins and sister over the original anime. She shares her thoughts on the incredible new anime, exploring the powerful themes of acceptance, healing and what it means to belong, all the while breaking down character arcs in connection to the Soma family curse.

Additionally, in a first for the podcast, Ali opens the episode by playing the original theme song, “For Fruits Basket,” on the piano. Enjoy!
